Leavers

Someone leaves. Their mail stays.

Archive mail, calendar and contacts, download the files, delete the account and stop paying for the seat. One person, or fifty at a time from the directory.

Moving on

Take everything out before the tenant goes.

Closing an account or changing providers? Get the whole organisation out in files that depend on nobody — not Google, not Microsoft, not us.

Records

Keep it exactly as it was.

Legal, HR and finance get every message in its original form, a manifest with SHA-256 digests, and an audit trail of who touched what.

How it works

Five steps, then it's yours and gone from here.

1

Connect

A single Gmail or Microsoft 365 account with the owner's consent, or a whole Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 organisation with admin approval.

2

Pick mailboxes

Tick the mailboxes you want. Mailgestor measures each one and shows its size and message count before anything starts.

3

Archive

One licence per mailbox. Watch progress live. Runs resume from checkpoints, and catch-up passes collect mail that arrived while it ran.

4

Build the files

Choose the formats per mailbox. Browse the archive in the web app first if you like — folders, threads, attachments, calendar, contacts.

5

Download, then gone

Download the files. They expire in seven days; the archive stays for six months so you can build them again, then it is deleted too.

What you get

Open formats. No reader required. Readable forever.

Every mailbox becomes a set of files any mail program can open. Large mailboxes split into volumes of 1 GB by default, or a single file if you prefer. You choose which formats to build; the rest are never made.

EML

Every message in its original RFC 822 form, in a ZIP with a manifest listing folder, date, sender, subject and SHA-256 digest.

MBOX

The whole mailbox in one file for Thunderbird, Apple Mail and every archive tool.

CSV

A spreadsheet index: date, from, to, subject, folder, size, message id.

ICS

Calendar events, cancelled ones included, for any calendar.

VCF

Contacts as vCards.

Pricing

One licence, one mailbox, paid once.

A licence archives a mailbox of up to 50 GB — mail, calendar and contacts, every format, browsing, and seven days of hosted download. Prices step down within a purchase like tax bands, so buying more never costs less in total. Licences never expire.

No plans, no per-user fees, no storage charges. Failed jobs keep their licences; cancelled jobs return them. Larger orders get a quote, paid in the same checkout.

Prices in GBP, excluding VAT.

Security and control

Read-only in. Encrypted throughout. Gone when you say so.

The source is never touched

Mailgestor holds read-only access and never sends, moves or deletes anything in the mailbox. It paces itself under Google's and Microsoft's quotas so the organisation's own use is undisturbed.

Encrypted under your account's key

Credentials are encrypted with AES-GCM under a per-account key and never shown or logged. Every message is stored once, content-addressed by SHA-256, encrypted and immutable. Built files stream decrypted only to an authorised download.

Nothing in a message can reach out

HTML mail is sanitised and rendered in a sandboxed frame with no network access — scripts and remote images blocked.

Roles, audit and approval

Owner, Admin, Auditor and Viewer roles. An audit log of every sign-in, job, message read and download, exportable as CSV. Viewers can be limited to named mailboxes.

Hosted in the UK

On Mailgestor's own infrastructure, with transactional email through Mailgun's EU region and payments through Stripe, which never shares card details with us.

A job of a million messages across six mailboxes is a normal day. A restart costs seconds.

A single job can cover an entire directory. Mailboxes archive in parallel, every one checkpointed. Exports of many gigabytes build on dedicated scratch storage and can be a single file.

Archive your first mailbox today.

Sign up with an email address, connect a mailbox, buy one licence. Watch it archive live, build the files you want, download them — the files are gone a week later and the archive six months on, or sooner if you say so.
